A Tiger, a Boy and a Bear News Bear

By the Trion Writers

“It’s a mystery!” Josie said. “It was right there when I went to sleep, and now it’s gone!” Josie the tiger cub was talking to her good friend Marty, who was the best boy detective in Trion. She was talking about her latest invention, a machine that makes bones for dogs to chew.

When Marty suggested that someone might have stolen it, Josie just laughed. She was so sweet that she could not imagine anyone stealing something that did not belong to them. In fact, Phil, a grumpy old bear who was always hungry, had taken her invention last night while she was sleeping. He just came in through a window of her house and made off with the bone maker. When Marty investigated the scene, he discovered bear fur and a couple of honey stains, and decided that Phil would be the number one suspect. Josie and Marty track down the bear to his cave and found the invention, but Phil was not going to give it up without a fight. Marty suggested a football game challenge, with the winner getting the machine.

It was a great plan until Phil won. Josie said it was no big thing, because she could invent another, and besides, Phil did not have the instructions or the power cord. He would not even be able to use the machine he stole! Even when bad guys win, they are still losers!

That was a different ending! What did you think?
